Around 29% of the earth’s surface is made up of land, while the rest is covered in water. It has a surface area of 509.6 million square kilometres or 197 million square miles.

The earth is the only planet in the solar system that is not named after a god. Instead, it is believed that the name is from the Anglo-Saxon word, erda, which means ground or soil. The earth is home to over 7 billion people, over 200 million LGBTQIA+ individuals, and seven continents.
