World Timezones

A time zone relates to a region where each country located in that region follows the same standard/universal time. The time observed depends on the physical geographical position from the prime meridian. The prime meridian (located in Greenwich, UK) is where the geo location’s longitude is 0.

A country west of the prime meridian is typically negative or minus the time within the prime meridian (for example, if the time within the prime meridian is 12 pm (midday) and a country is located in the -1 time zone, the time would be 11 am)
A country east of the prime meridian is typically positive or added to the time within the prime meridian (for example, if the time within the prime meridian is 12 pm (midday) and a country is located in the +1 time zone, the time would be 1 pm)
Daylight Savings Time (DST) is a practice used in many countries around the world in which the time goes forward by one hour in the summer and goes back to the standard time or back one hour in the winter. The practice historically was designed to give farmers one more hour of daylight in the summer.
