A bisexual individual can be defined as someone who is male, female, within the spectrum or as non-binary. Bisexual people are physically, emotionally and/or sexually attracted to individuals from both the same and opposite genders (male-female-male, female-male-female). Unlike those who identify as gay or lesbian, Bisexuals generally do not prefer one gender over the other. Bisexual individuals will often be referred to as bi or pan.

    Bicurious (pronounced – bahy-kyoor-ee-uhs | bʌɪˈkjʊəɹɪəs) is a term referring to an individual who is attracted to the opposite sex; however, is also experiencing attraction to a person who is the same gender as themselves. Though experiencing attraction, they would not have yet had sexual relations or acted on their attraction

  • Sexual attraction or desire for both the same and opposite gender
  • Bisexual people are, also known as Bi and PanBisexual individuals, will not have a preference for one gender over the other


  • It is believed that 1.3% of men and 2.2% of women around the world identify as Bisexual, making them the largest group within the LGBTQIA+ community
  • Bisexuality has been around for thousands of years and is referenced in numerous religious texts and scriptures from ancient Greece, Rome, Japan, and China
  • People born since 1965 are more likely to not identify as entirely straight or gay
  • People of colour are more likely to be bisexual than Caucasians
  • Bisexuals are more likely to be attracted to people from across the gender spectrum than other members of the LGBTQIA+ community
