Togo is part of the Western Africa region in the continent of Africa. Togo's name is believed to have derived from the Ewe term, meaning by the water or behind the sea. It is in the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, near the equator and is 56.8 thousand square kilometres in size. The primary language spoken is French, the capital city is Lomé, and the main currency used is the CFA Franc Bceao.
